A short errand between the Cave and the smith's house that ends with your first real pickaxe. Greg gives you a basic pickaxe if you have none, and all the copper you need can be mined inside the Cave.

Copper Ore (consumed) Buy from Greg for 10 coins (+1 more shops); Gather: Copper Rock (Mining 1); Drop: Dark Dwarf (51597/250000) and 1 more.- 4 Copper Ore for Greg (taken at the trade). You can mine them on the spot: the Cave has ten copper rocks, the nearest at (8, 7) and (9, 7), just past the entrance. Mining 1 is enough.
- No pickaxe? Greg gives you a
Wood Pickaxe when you first speak to him. - Keep a free backpack slot for the ore Greg gives you and one for the reward pickaxe.
- The Cave has Dwarven Miners (combat level 6). They are worth avoiding at very low levels.
