The Revenge of the Dwards

Anton's twin brother came home from the caves bruised and furious. Take a tour of Whalewood's advice, thin out the dwarves and track down the dwarf behind it all.

A long combat quest that ends in a solo boss fight. The rewards are Bromli's Bottomless Mug, 1,600 Attack XP, 1,600 Strength XP, 1,200 Defence XP, 4,500 coins and 3 Quest Points.

Requirements: Dig a hole, The Vein Beneath the Mountain, 15 Quest Points, Combat level 35 and Mining 20.

No items need to be gathered in advance.

  • Nothing is handed in; this quest is all conversations and combat.
  • Dwarven Miners (combat 6) live in the Cave; Dark Dwarves (combat 16) in the Deep Cave (entrance needs Mining 15).
  • The final opponent is combat level 40 with 190 hitpoints and hits up to 14. Bring food and your best gear.
  • Getting to Whalewood: leave the Overworld through its west edge at (0, 25–26) into Westwood Pass, then follow the pass to its west edge.

  1. Talk to Anton around (43, 33) in Whalewood and choose Talk about The Revenge of the Dwards.

  2. Talk to Pontus the Warrior: outside around (33, 27) in the morning, day and evening, inside Pontus' House (door at (31, 27)) at night.

  3. Kill 5 Dwarven Miners in the Cave. Only kills inside the Cave itself count. The quest moves on when the fifth falls.

  4. Talk to Pontus again.

  5. Talk to Glenn the Archer: outside around (48, 26) in the morning, day and evening, inside Glenn's Archery Shop (door at (46, 25)) at night.

  6. Enter the Whalewood Tavern (door at (38, 22)) and talk to Barkeep Claes.

  7. Talk to Greg around (7, 18) in the Cave.

  8. Kill 4 Dark Dwarves in the Deep Cave (entrance at the south end of the Cave at (2–3, 43)). Dark Dwarves in the Abyss Mine do not count.

  9. Talk to Greg. He gives you the Blackbarrel Keg Seal (keep a free slot).

  10. Talk to Patricia. Nothing is taken.

  11. Talk to Rasmus around (56, 5).

  12. Talk to Anton in Whalewood.

  13. Talk to Anton, choose Follow the trail to Bromli and win the fight at the end of it.

  14. Talk to Anton to complete the quest. Keep a free slot for the mug. The Blackbarrel Keg Seal is removed from your backpack and bank.

Spoiler The final fight

Talk to Anton again and choose Follow the trail to Bromli. You are taken alone into a private arena with the Drunken Angry Dwarf. When he falls you are returned to Whalewood. If you have to leave before winning, talk to Anton and follow the trail again: he opens a fresh arena.

  • Kills made before the matching step is active do not count.
  • The final opponent is a Hall of Fame boss.
